Not sure if this applies to your model, but I've had 2 GE's that sometimes tripped the GFCI, not the breaker, at the exact same point, when the rinse fill started. Everything else was perfect about them, and if you simply reset the GFCI, they finished the cycle perfectly and didn't trip for maybe the next 5 loads. I ended up turning one outlet into a non-GFCI and the 2 machines have run wonderfully since. Maybe when GFCI was mandated in the mid 70's, it took a few years for GE to work out a nano-second bug in their timers?? I don't know, but have had no troubles since.

Well it looks like a fun machine. Given that it's NIB and Free who can complain.

Neat find, it’s always need to see the differences in machines that we were so used to seeing here in the US how they were modified for other countries and voltages, etc.
Looks to be in good shape although it does look like it has leaked some down over the transmission from the corrosion lines. I think the last poster was trying to suggest that high speed is less we’re on the clutch, but it would not hurt the transmission at all. In fact, it be better to run any transmission at a slower speed for its long-term durability. Let us know how it works. Could be fun , they may have taken the wiring disconnect block out and hardwired it because the wiring disconnect block could have failed. It might’ve failed from the leaking water on it, etc. John. |

I'd liked to have asked GE why Australian and Canadian versions of Filter-Flo's were made with cool white and blue porcelain washbaskets when most of our US GE's had the cheaper-looking speckled gray ones. Somehow the foreigners just look better made.
My sister and brother-in-law lived in Canberra for many years and loved it there. I can't wait to visit Australia. |
