Would anyone know where I could source a Whirlpool LA7400xm timer? (1984 d2000 series w/ spin drain). I don’t get high speed, and low speed only hums. High speed only works with a full tub of water (when the pressure switch is satisfied) |

You may want to try to look at the timer contacts, start capacitor on the motor, pressure switch, and a few other things while you are at it. The unfortunate thing about the DD timers is when they go into spin, there’s a a little bit of arcing when the contact closes and engages the spin and after many years of doing that, it will take it’s toll and will get to the point where it won’t want to work anymore. The timers on the belt drives from what I can see never have that problem since the motor runs for most of the time and simply engages solenoids which are activated by closing various contacts in the timer, since a solenoid takes little power to engage, there’s no arcing hence why the timer in the belt drives lasted a good while.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I ordered the timer so we shall see. It probably needs a slew of other things but I’m starting there |
