hello to all aw members,

food for toughs the question is if my mom and i had to replace or modern set and she ask me to buy the next set i think i would go vintage with a direct drive top load washer like my mom and i own from 1993 to 2004 brands on my list

1- inglis with a warm rinse option as well as extra rinse

2- Whirlpool same options as number 1

3 kenmore side opening lid

4 maytag centinial center dial direct drive or perfoma pics are just a few i noted as the old saying go cost nothing to plan

What the heck is food for toughs?

What??? Title makes absolutely no sense whatsoever? You continue to post over and over about the same thing asking us opinions on random thoughts you have about getting another set when you just told us you got a new Maytag set? Like, I don’t even understand what you’re even asking?

I believe that English is Pierre’s second language, cut him some slack. Reading between the lines it’s clear that he meant “thoughts”. I don’t know about anyone else here, but I’d be hard pressed to write anything intelligible in French.

He is politely requesting the opinions of other members about their recommendations of various older TL machines.

Pierre isn’t the only member that asks seemingly the same questions repeatedly.

Thank you ea56,

you never know when you might have to rely on an older top load machines (washer dryer*) for the following factor 1 price range 2 stock availability and other factors, i have also watch lots of YouTube videos of some owners of fancier machines that own vm model washers had problems with there machines. So as the old saying go cost nothing to plan in advance

maytaga806 you need to apologize to Pierre.

What right do you have picking on Pierre like that? Pierre has a right to ask as many questions as he wants and whether or not he may ask similar questions is irrelevant, as long as the questions follow the guidelines of this site. Pierre has an obvious passion for vintage appliances just like the rest of us members and that is all that matters and we don't need people like you making others feel bad for no reason. I have been involved with this site since it's inception about the time you were born and I have seen a number of nice people be attacked and driven off this site by mean and nasty people needlessly, please do not become one of those who do that. Patrick,
That was nicely stated. Thanks for being one of the good guys that come to the defense of members that are wrongly shamed. In the immortal words of Rodney King, “can’t we all just get along?”

Hope you have a great day.

Eddie

Hi Pierre

I would pick option #1. Good luck!
