I just bought a Kenmore Series no W11 Model # C960 14490 1 wringer washer. When I picked it up it was in perfect working condition.
But I laid it on its side to bring it home in the car and a bit of oil leaked out of the gear box. When I set it up straight, more oil leaked out. I would like to change the oil before turning it on again. I took the cowling off above the gear box on the side of the machine and can see neither drain plug nor oil fill hole.
Questions:
1. Where is the oil drain plug on this thing?
2. Where do I add the new oil?
3. What kind of oil should I use?
4. Does anyone have a maintenance manual for this wringer washer or can anyone tell me where to get one?

Thanks!

Kenmore wringer washer lost oil

I wouldn’t give it a second thought, clean up the oil and start using the washer, this is not an automobile engine that is highly stressed. It could run with less than a cup of oil in it for decades it never needs changing unless it’s been contaminated by water.

What is the oil that leaked out white and murky or was it just Brown oil?

John

It was a yellow-gold colour. It didn't look or smell old.
