![]() From last Thursday, August 25th until Tuesday August 29th, I was thrilled to play host to a small group of vintage collectors from Ohio and Michigan.
We've known each other online for some time and I had referred to a "collector friend in Ohio" who had been my US warehouse for dishwashers and washers that were acquired while the border was closed and I could not travel to the US. Well, I got there last October and met these fellows in person at last.
From left to right, Chris (spiraldasher here), Richard (speedqueen), and Luke (not an automaticwasher member, but probably is on vacuumland).

![]() They were eager to get to test-drive some of my vintage washers in the Ogden Laundry!
Chris had specifically asked about the unusual 1958 Dominion, so I hooked it up for him.
This is a bit of a twitchy washer, but it behaved for my 'company'.... LOL

![]() The 56 Easy Spiralator (not my washer - this is Jon Charles' that I am holding hostage...LOL) was also on the list. |

![]() The 55 Frigidaire Pulsamatic had also been requested.
I seem to be cursed by Frigidaires this year because the damned thing filled, but the timer would not advance... There has to be at least ONE machine that misbehaves in front of guests.... This also irks me because the timer was "rebuilt" by Turners Timer Repair in Ontario JUST before they declared they would no longer look at electromechanical timers... Hopefully just a dead timer motor.
My 57 Frigidaire Imperial 'Control Tower' washer is having issues filling for rinse and my 59 Frigidaire Custom Imperial washer refuses to agitate... |

![]() Fortunately my Canadian 57 GE Filter-Flo behaved! So did the matching dryer. |

![]() The GE Combo in the WonderKitchen is giving me attitude (again), so the visitors had to settle for a demo of the 58 Philco-Bendix Duomatic.

![]() The 54 James SweepFlow dishwasher made for a fun way to 'do the dishes'. This is a great dinner party dishwasher, 'cause you can actually see inside it! |

![]() We also took a road trip to visit with PhilR to see his awesome mid-century house and collection.
We even got to take a spin in Phil's beloved 65 Buick Wildcat! |

![]() But the visit came to an end and they had to go back...
After one last load of laundry in the 57 GE Filter-Flo, of course!
It was great visit and I look forward to heading back to Ohio again sometime soon.

Nice to see you guys all again, not enough pictures of you, Paul however.
Glad to see some folks getting together, I’ve decided I need to do some more work on the museum to get it ready for people again. There seem to be a lot of good Appliance finds again lately and also some collectors are getting rid of their collections so there’s a lot of good stuff out there up for grabs. Hopefully, we will get out to Ohio soon. Maybe I’ll see some you guys in Ohio. John. |
