Mieles are the best

I have that dryer; it's my daily driver. It's the most accurate, quietest and most user friendly dryer I've ever experienced. I hand iron my bed sheets and the Damp-Dry settings are very precise. I think the machine is more than 30+ years old but it is still going strong.

I have it's house-mate which was a German model MONDIA 1300; one of the best washers I have ever experienced (would have ranked THE best if it had a bleach dispenser,  larger capacity and NOT some weird fill hose that's supposed to protect you from over-filling/flooding, I don't know but the lady who sold it to me said to just ignore it but you can't remove it from the machine) but it has a broken fill solenoid and that whole pump-clean-out thing at the bottom (I will never buy a Front loader without one of those) is somehow messed up. Am waiting on a local Miele repair specialist to call me back because I  want it back in action.

Now I know how to say SPIN, RINSE, SOAK and PRE-WASH  in German. Yay.

Remember That German Miele

Saw it on CL then it was gone. Subsequently heard your good news so at least washer went to a good home.

Miele USA should be able to source parts from Europe (hopefully) so your washer will soon be mended.

My AEG washers came with versions of "water stop" hoses. Happily they can be removed and replaced with normal, so that was that. Since neither machine is permanently connected aren't worried.

Need to replace the "hot" fill solenoid on my W1070. Have had part lying about for over a year or more now, just haven't gotten around to doing job. Motor at times makes loud whining when spinning (sounds like a 747 about to take off), so not sure how long it has for this world.

In theory motor could be taken out, worked on and replaced but am not sure am up to that job. Miele USA won't do such things where machine is located, but insists on transporting back to their workshops in NJ. It's all rather moot really as was long ago told off by head of Miele service that under no circumstances would they take on such a job for neither love nor money. Washer is "old", "obsolete" and Miele has washed their hands of it.

An "infamia"

Sadly, what you're saying is that an upright European brand has adopted the current USA business philosophy of planned obsolescence via bad/insufficient service. Pity. None of this BS would be accepted in Germany.

I suspected as much when the current dumbed-down Miele American washer models were introduced several years ago.

Then everybody is going to whine petulantly when China comes on line, like Japan did with cars in the '70's, and starts producing superior white goods for our markets.

I wish I could afford the Miele "Giant" but 5K is too steep for me.
