Lawrence, unfortunately there was a Performa Platform that was real May tag DC product and there was also a platform that was the old Norge. Unfortuinately my oldest syster was a victim of the latter confused platform. She had like a A412 that they literally wore out due to them domesticating future K9 officer dogs. When she had to replace it, she just went by the Maytag brand label. And started having problems iwth it. When I pressed her as to whether the tub was plastic she said it was and told her the bad news. She limped that along as long as she could and ended up replacing it with a SQ FL.

That’s just like the one that was left behind at my old house when I moved in 2006 though it was a 1997 model. I distinctly remember the sound it would make when engaging into the spin cycle, both the Maytag A606 and A806 sound the same as well despite having different motors in them along with being 5 to 7 years apart. No machine ever made is as dependable as the 1966 to 2006 Maytags.
