Hi everyone, I wanted to share a new to me machine...the Asko Excellence 1503 dishwasher. Last year this was donated to our store; I immediately grabbed it! :) I believe the model dates between 1979 & 1981 and is one of the first models introduced to the US (?); I have some literature on it but it's not dated. I wasn't able to get it home when it first arrived due to space limitations so I stored it in the back of our warehouse. Fast forward to this past week I was finally able to bring it home. I hooked it up and it works perfectly! Very exciting!!

It is a really nice machine. It's very powerful, but super quiet. Both wash arms run at the same time, and it has a 1400 watt heating element. It heats water very quickly. The control panel is really cool. When you select a cycle the sequence of steps for that cyclen will light up along with a time estimate. Once you start the machine the cycle lights switch to indicate what phase of the cycle the machine is in. It even has an interior light!

Alas, the racks have rust! I have been searching for racks for over a year; I recently found a couple of leads which I hope pan out. If anyone in our group has a set of racks that will fit this model, and would like to sell them, please get in touch with me. I am also looking for service literature and parts list. I was able to get an operating guide, but service and parts info is hard to find.

Which leads me to ask if any of our members in Europe are familiar with this model? I am assuming this US model is based on a European model, but I am unable to find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Luckily everything works and there are no leaks. At this point I am going to clean it up and install it in my "gallery." As for the racks I am going to attempt to recoat them. I know a machine shop that could weld replacement tines onto the racks. Once I have that done I'll get some liquid rubber coating to recoat the repaired sections. Hopefully it will work! Enjoy the pics.

That’s a nice looking machine. I don’t think it’s that old though. That touch panel is more of a 90’s or naughties thing. At least in AU, pre 1990ish, they were all branded Asea rather than Asko.

Where did you get that date from?

What a cool machine! I love seeing these older European dishwashers here in the states, don’t see too many of them. Hopefully you get the racks sorted out.

Nathan, you were correct. The model dates from the early 90's. I've attached pics of a brochure that is dated from 1992 and shows this model (my apologies for the scan quality).

Does anyone have any service &/or parts literature for this model series?
