My love affair with our Miele set has continued and I wanted to provide an update.

1. Read the manuals. I always do that with any product I get. But, I’ve found with these they give you important tips about how they work and getting best performance.

2. The wash temperatures are pretty much spot on when I measure the output water at the end of a wash drain period (I’d approximate that would be the best estimate of the fabric temperature if you were to measure it.) (My infrared thermometer does not work well with the angles and the plastic and glass front door.)

3. Soak, Prewash and Water Plus can all be selected in the app. Soak is a default approximately 20 minute soak then it goes right into the Main Wash. Soak has a fill/tumble then only occasional tumbling for the rest of the soak period. Prewash has a drain and a full spin before it goes into the Main Wash. It does seem to warm the Prewash slightly. The drain water is definitely not Tap Cold.

4. The dryer is great at reminding you about cleaning the filters. Unfortunately, the App only says it has an unknown fault. When you go to the dryer, you hear the alarm and see the Clean Filter icon lit. Hopefully that will be fixed in a future revision.

5. Things definitely seem to come out much cleaner from the washer. Especially on a cold cycle. I think it has to do with the variable number of rinsing cycles, thorough rinsing and the high spin speeds.

6. SoftSteam is great. I’ve been washing all items I hang to dry together. They are generally at the perfect dryness right out of the washer with SoftSteam to be hung up with no need to go into the dryer.

7. I have a small point of use water heater which was originally put in for the KitchenAid I have in the garage. However, I’ve found the washer gives me no issues with going from a cold fill. The heater is surprisingly powerful.

I’m looking forward to the Miele dishwasher once the kitchen remodel is finished.

Bob
