These were all whirlpool designed and built, had nothing to do with Amana.
I don’t see an icemaker in this model it’s optional, this also has a very generous almost 7 1/2 ft.³ freezer. It holds much more than the newer ones where everything has to go into a rolling basket. These were very good refrigerators it was probably made about 1990 through 94. John |

Hi Ralph, this model did not come with an icemaker, but was equipped to take an optional one. My guess is that only half such refrigerators had an icemaker added to it.
Even though this had the KitchenAid name on it, it wasn’t particularly any more expensive than the whirlpool version less than $100, and really high-end homes often have a separate ice machine anyway. We take the icemakers out of a lot of nice refrigerators all the time because people don’t need them, I probably take four or five icemakers out every month on service calls where people don’t want them to never hook them up don’t need them.
