Hi All,

New to the forum.

I need a bit of help looking for ANY Collectible Washer/Dryer Sets, What Machines I should be looking for and whats more/less available/easy/hard to find.

I would prefer to find a Maytag 906/806 Set. Had these as a kid.

Currently I have rebuilt 3 Kenmore 90 Series Direct Drive along with spare parts to completly rebuild them again when needed. After buying 6 new (Hi Inneficiency) washers in 5 years... Unclean/Unrinsed Clothes due to certain media innacuracies.... I had enough! Now I have clean clothes again!

Fun Fact!

Anyone who has/is gone from a Hi-Inneficient Washer to a 2009 and older Washer... Wash 3/4 (Clean?) Towels done in your Hi-Inneficient Washer...With NO SOAP... Watch the magic happen and gaze at a Tub full of Soap Bubbles!!!!

Thanks ahead of time for your help.
Best to all

I'm a Maytag guy but if you have 3 Kenmore DD's on hand, rebuilt, and ready to go, I really don't see the purpose of collecting additional washers unless you have a massive size family and they all get heavy use.

I'm a neophyte to classic washers too. I recently started a thread about a classic late 1980s Amana set I bought for $175 and just put into service. You can find it here:

www.automaticwasher.org/c...

At least according to some, the Amana set I scored is one of the very best ever made in terms of quality, features and durability. Same quality and build as a Speed Queen, which is a commercial grade unit.

Another set that may be the best washer ever is the Maytag Dependable Care model. It is also discussed and shown in the thread referenced above. If you manage to stumble upon one of these in good shape, might be a good pick.

Anyway, welcome aboard and good luck scoring a good set that satisfies the quality and aesthetics of what you're looking for.
