Guys,
I have a 1972 speed queen washer that has been working very well i filled it to wash a load of sheets and the motor runs but no agitation. i moved the timer to spin and it drained and spun fine. Any ideas on what to check and look for first?

Thanks for your input,
Darren

A few details would help like a model number before I could even venture a guess as to what’s wrong.

Solid tub reversing motor, Speed Queen washer

Motor running, but not shifting into agitate, there’s a mechanism on top of the transmission that shifts the agitator shaft to the transmission when the motor reverses, I don’t have a lot of experience with these machines, but you’re just gonna have to figure out what went wrong,

It could be a simple as freeing up something that got stuck may also be searching for very difficult to find parts.

If you can get pictures of broken parts or something, somebody may be able to help, I have a friend in Cleveland that had a lot of experience with these machines.
