After almost 40 years of continuous use my Maytag dryer DG608 started to stop heating after starting up for about ten minutes. My reputable repair company in San Francisco called Parkside Appliances came and diagnosed the problem related to the gas valve. This particular part is no longer available after he checked his sources and mentioned another customer earlier in the week also had the same problem.

Is there any way of finding this part? This dryer has been gently used and well taken care of and looks brand new after all these years. Any help appreciated.

The valves rarely go bad, it's usually the coils. There are 3 of them, I can find 2 of those 3 on eBay. The 305604 valve is tricky to find. Just another reason to start pillaging these dryers for parts.

Or you can spend $200 for the entire kit (which is NLA).

Parkside Appliances called this morning to say he was still looking. I called to advise him to stop looking as I ordered a new LG dryer yesterday.
