What is the tub capacity of the Maytag LA612?

Also,
I was considering restoring a LA612. The bearing kit is still available. However, the tub seal kit is not. It seems pointless to pull the tub and replace the bearing without replacing the seal. Is this the end of restoring LA612's ?

Thanks

This is a 19 gallon tub. You should be able to wash 10 to 12 pounds of cotton clothing in it.

Seal assemblies can still be found. If you look there’s also aftermarket ones made now I don’t know how good they are.

It is possible that you don’t need to replace the seal assembly, although if the tub bearing is worn out, it almost certainly has a bad seal assembly.

the tub seal kit is not.

Aftermarket stem seal kits are available on Ebay and amazon, reviews aren't great but worth a try.

There are still lots of OEM seal kits out there. I just bought 12 of them from our distributor two months ago. It was some of the last ones out there but they are still out there if you look.
