I now own the early 1950's Frigidaire washer once owned by Roger LeQuea here in Arizona. I believe Robert and Greg helped him work on it, once upon a time. It is now, intermittently, pulsating at the start of the spin cycle. Then it straightens out and gets up to speed. The machine is set-up in the garage. It was doing it during the hotter months here. The temperature in the garage can get over 100 degrees during the summer. As it has gotten cooler in the garage, it gets up to speed, and operates as it should. I would like to be proactive, and repair it, if it is not too complicated, as I don't want to stress the torque spring.
Your 1958 machine once did the same thing. You commented a number of years ago on a You-Tube post, included the statement that it "Turned out it was an electrical problem rapidly cutting power on and off to the motor. All fixed now."
If you posted the step-by-step remedy on the automaticwasher.org website, I can't find it. Hopefully difficult to find parts aren't needed! If it doesn't involve anything beyond a wiring connection, I can handle it. Removing and repairing the mechanism is beyond my skill set. Could you please elaborate on the fix?
Thanks, Ken

This posting was intended in part for Robert’s attention, because he experienced the same issue. However helpful comments from anyone are appreciated.

I had fixed my machine by replacing the relay I installed to protect the timer, however within 9 months it had started to do this again. I had fixed it just as the basement was starting to get chilly in the late autumn and that might tricked me into thinking it was the relay. After running some experiments I'm now of the belief that the start windings within the motor are slowly degrading. This becomes more apparent as the motor heats up after running more the one load. In the spring when I have some more time I'm going to have the motor rewound to see if that clears up the issue.
