Hello guys. I just move to this flat in Guadalajara, Mexico and found this machine. I could not find any information in the internet about it. The model number is: ALG181J6W1 and the serial number is: XE44269242. It is from 10-94. I'm planning on giving it a deep clean. It looks cool.

Cheers!

It's a WCI/White Consolidated Industries/Frigidaire clone.

That is indexing tub "Franklin"washer kinda cheaply made, but has a few good points:,all iron transmission, good sized clutch belt, and better tub seal than most.Sometime around the time yours was made, pump mounted on the drive motor was switched to seperate drain pump with it's own motor.

I'll be opening it soon for cleaning. I'll post some more images. Cheers!

WCI full size stack top load gas dryer

There are tens of thousands of those here in DC mostly electric ones but we do see some gas dryers as well. These are good money makers we do a lot of repair work on them that’s for sure overall it’s a good average performing machine, the washers indexing agitation is terrible with big loads, but it eventually gets things clean.

Congratulations on your new place and it’s certainly nice to have a washer and dryer in your home.

I know of someone who has one of these from 1989 under the Kenmore name. According to the model number, it was originally sold as a Kelvinator. It is very similar to yours, except it has push button controls and a console backlight. Some years ago, I did a science fair project on washing machine performance, and that machine beat every other washer I tested. I've always wondered what an actual Kelvinator laundry center of that vintage would look like. Thanks for posting pictures!
