It's been a while since I've posted anything, but my appliance life is pretty boring..lol. Back in 2019 our beloved electronic LK was failing, rusty racks, a leaky door and rust in the tub. So, ultimately we decided it was time to let her go.. I did my research (including reading alot of threads posted here) and settled on a Maytag MDB4949SHBO. It did a pretty decent job, and it was one of the few that had a chopper.. however, it just seemed flimsy, and if you were not absolutely diligent about scrapping everything off of the plates you would get the forbidden "dishwasher salad" (as I deemed it) in the bottom.. gross.. I know that some of you will disagree, but I don't think I should have wash my dishes before I wash them. So I set out on the hunt to find a WP power clean. And after a few months of searching I found one on FB marketplace for free!! So... I just happened to be in the area for work that day and stopped and picked it up.. The poor thing was sitting out in the rain, but looked pretty good. Of, course the bottom panel was missing, ugh!! But through the power of Ebay I fixed that! This thing is immaculate! The racks look like they're new, and seeing that they are a different color I'm thinking that they may have been replaced. It definitely has low miles on it, I truly didn't think that I'd find one this clean. The dishwasher gods were definitely smiling down on me!! And the best part? No more dishwasher salad..YAAAY!!

NICE!

These are great machines regardless of options. I too had a TOL one like you, I think the 8900 is TOL? Anyways, mine was the Canadian version. I didn't have the Low Energy Wash option like you do, but I had fold down shelves are on the top rack and Light Wash was a separate button from Normal Wash unlike yours. I was always pleased with its performance and it did a great job.
