It looks like my 80s maytag dryer's chime assembly exploded and now the dryer won't shut off. Looking for a hail mary and seeing if anyone has one lying around. Really trying to save this antique from the scrap yard.

Mid to late 80's is considered antique now?

I'm not seeing the 312260 paperclip linkage in the picture that's linked between the solenoid and waferboard tab. That will be a difficult part to find now.

Should be easy enough to fab a linkage between the two pieces.

The chime is broken, not too worried about making the linkage work.

You'll have to be more specific, the bell exploded?

A chum of mine is a retired Westinghouse employee.

Told me about the chimes in some of the machines he used to service as a factory service technician.

What charm...
Modern stuff plays tunes but its not as nice as a real bell or chime at the end of a cycle.
