Hey guys

Everyone loves a Speed Queen set, right?  They're quick, simple, basic, built like tanks and they get the job done with no fuss, no balancing routine and no time wasting.

But.....I just had to give my Lady Kenmore set a whirl in my laundry room.  And who doesn't love a lighted console, triple dispenser and all the bells and whistles?!

Thanks so much to Todd for this set and thanks to Alan for the replacement dispenser.

Yes, and Austin this set was from 1974. Sears began having the LKs with full set & Forget by late 1968 to 1970.

Bob, didn’t the early 60’s Lady Kenmore’s have the ‘set and forget’ as well? My Whirlpool (when it was working) was set and forget, always would ‘remember’ the last cycle that was selected. Hope to get that machine up and running sometime next year.

Congratulations Mark - these look fantastic and I bet they wash great. Thank you for sharing a video - so interesting to see the dispensers working!

Sean, I'm including the presence of detergent dispensers in Kenmores. The first top load LK with detergent dispensers I found was Spring 1967 catalogue. Now their LK combo had detergent dispensers in their 1966 or 1965 (next door to parents) model.

Mark, they look gorgeous in your laundry room and look right at home! Glad you got the dispenser working and thank you for posting the video. I really miss those machines and am happy you are enjoying them!

Melvin, happy to hear the Wards Signature set is still going strong. Those were my favorites from my collection.

Cheers,

Todd

Thanks for all the comments, guys, and glad you liked the video.  This is a great set for sure and I like the "set & forget" aspect of the washer.  The dryer works very well too and has an accurate moisture sensor.

A fun and useful set to have!

Mark

Was this machine set on a gentle speed? Agitation seemed slower than what I remember being typical for these washers.

Ryne, the Enzyme Soak cycle (30 miinutes) had gentle agitation. Spin speed was always normal as well as wash cycle agitationj normal speed.
