I always had to wonder how many of these they sold this is a very early 50s machine it was made entirely by Bendix, but it was larger machine and larger capacity than what Bendix sold.

I can’t imagine how much 18 pounds of laundry weighed when it was spun at only 275 RPMs.

This machine required for holes to be board in the concrete floor and anchored at four points because of its size. I guess regular Bendix is only needed two mounting bolts., I can imagine this machine taking off if it wasn’t bolted properly lol

Has anybody ever seen one of these rare Norge front load washers?

This was in the rusty damp basement of an estate sale a friend of mine in Atlanta went to, sadly he had no way to get it out of there.

There was a Norge laundry mat up the street where we lived when I was growing up. They had both front load and top load washers. The front load washers held a huge amount of laundry, they were good performers, very reliable. Mom used that laundry mat when needing to wash oversized items. Remember it was a bare bones laundry mat with an attendant that offered drop off service, never knew what laundry detergent they used. Never saw an “Out of Order” sign on the front loaders.
