Was looking at some stuff and found that apparently, while LG launched their combo, Samsung has their full size HP dryer (DV53BB8900HD) out already:

It is certainly more expensive than the comparable normal electric dryer by about 500$. Don't think with US energy pricing that will make much sense - that's probably like 2000 cycles until it earned the difference back.
Samsungs HP dryers in the EU are actually pretty decently regarded, especially considering their washers problematic nature.
Still can't stand the controls, though.

One big difference there appears to be Samsung offers a water tank so you do not have to hook it up to the drain.
If it wasn't for the 208V connection (which this needs - appears to have a 1400W boost heater for quicker drying) that would be a real place anywhere dryer option.

Are like LG’s are basically a copy of whirlpool just not built as well. Much thinner metal, Samsung is had a good bit of trouble with their dryers

This highbred heat pump dryer should be quite a bit more energy efficient and of course most people are buying it because they can’t vent the dryer outdoors

I don’t know where you come up with the 208 V thing yes you can run it on 208 V but it requires a 240 V line like regular full-size drivers to run this machine.
