That dryer drym reminds me of our early 1950s Norge Timeline and 1964 Norge dryers.

Must have the calrod heating elements behind the perforated drum.

Actually, both the air flow and condenser dryers had the Calrod elements in the 10 o'clock position in the outer tub. Hotpoint called the heat "Black Heat" because the elements stayed dark. The air stream through the vented dryers was like in the condenser dryers with the air going down through the drum and through what would be the condensing chamber in the bottom of the porcelain outer tub.

I remember reading through the archives a few years back and Hans (Norgeway) mentioned he once knew someone who had one of those dryers that ended burning up a load of clothes or something.
