These are showing up on CL and ND a lot lately, and the Hobart-made ones are a steal when priced at $50 or less.

I think that between Xmas and kitchen remodels, people are "upgrading" to the new KAs with plastic parts and look like they're candy coated.

Hammer fell at $50

There was a time when a fully loaded Hobart built KA mixer set like one being offered went for serious money.

Guess it was bound to happen, kitchen gadgets seem to go in and out of favor. Suppose it all depends upon what top chef or cooking show on television is pushing at the moment. When "the Two Fat Ladies" were all the rage everyone wanted an AGA range.

Suppose fewer persons are doing that much baking or whatever at home that want or need these near commercial quality mixers.

We have an upswing in sales of Aga's and all other heat store ranges they have become so uneconomical that UK Facebook marketplace is flooded with them every type apart from solid fuel as you can burn wood thats cheap to get. It's quite sad really ! The end of another era I guess.

Read in Financial Times several weeks ago Aga and other range cookers were falling out of favour in UK. Well electric, gas and oil models mostly; as noted solid fuel versions are another matter.

With gas, oil and electricity rates so dear in UK often wondered why persons bothered with "always on" AGA or similar ranges.

While one can appreciate usefulness of such ranges in a cold and damp climate, but still.

Barbies seem to be all the rage now; though cooking out doors isn't always up one's street.

What a monstrosity that new AGA grill appears to me. For starters the circular shape and that ginormous lid. Then picture yourself having to clean it.. notice and picture where all the grease is going.. straight over the sides dripping onto those handles which will have to be cleaned and then into that big circular trough,, another cleaning nightmare. All that fun for 4-5 grand. nope. LOL
