Looks Clean. I believe this is the one that did a terrible job, and was very quiet.
however looks very nice.

THE RARE Dual Drench Tappan and it appears to be the TOL model. It was so quiet it sounded like the tires rolling down the wet surface freeway. This model is also a POD with a cat sitting on top of the counter above it.

Wow, John, that is the rare top-of-the-line version of this. Totally useless dishwasher, if I was closer, I would grab it. I have the basic model for the museum already. Hope somebody will save it.

I had a brand new one of these 45 years ago, and it absolutely wouldn’t clean anything. I wasn’t really collecting things at that point and I took the drain pump off of it and recycled it for scrap metal.

I’m sure this one wasn’t used to have lasted this long, if there was a way to get it easily, I would gladly pay for it for the museum, but I don’t think it’s worth paying three or $400 to ship to Maryland.

John

I wonder if this is in a vacation home? The cabinetry looks flawless and is probably the same age as the dishwasher (60's?).

Early to mid 60s Tappan dishwasher

Hi dare say this was a house where the kitchen didn’t see hard use but probably not a vacation house but who knows doesn’t really matter, the cabinets certainly do show wear near the bottoms of the doors and they used the kitchen enough to wear out the original floor.

But they obviously took good enough care of it to keep the ugly countertops all these years, but we see a lot of houses that are quite old that are in beautiful condition not unusual after you’ve been in over 50,000 kitchens. I’ve seen a lot of different things.

Is that a Plastisol tub?

and I think you're right about low usage; their isn't a spot of rust on those racks. It may be a bad cleaner, but it'd be very cool to have. And you all know I'm a sucker for turquoise.
