Both these machines look to be in great shape. It looks like they stole the cord from the Wards dryer for the new dryer. Clever way to save 25 bucks.
On this wards dryer you have to raise the top. The cord connection was under the top of the machine, so that’s why the top is pried up. Someone probably didn’t use a dryer very much for that machine to still be around from the early 70s. John |

My money is on the Snorge washer having taken itself out early on, and the Kenmore replacing whatever replaced the Snorge. Our '67 gifted us a catastrophic Norge-torious transmission failure just after the one-year warranty ran out. It was just us two kids and my parents in the household and my dad had a white collar job. IMO, it didn't require much use to kill a Snorge, The #1 Choice Among Discriminating Masochists From Coast to Coast! |

I would love to have that dryer my mother had the matching washer in avacado and it lasted a dairy farm family for 15 years cleaning well. I wish i could get it to arkansas, Darren |

I have to admit the interior porcelain on the drum is attractive and the drum size looks rather carnivorous. I'm assuming this is the late 60's+ when they changed it from a great design into a very inferior design.

This is just gray baked enamel, which is why you can tell the dryer wasn’t used that heavily. I have a occasionally but rarely seen a Norge dryer that lasted long enough to have a lot of the paint worn away like you see on an older whirlpool, and Kenmore dryers before they went to the epoxy finish in 1985.
