That ge ww is certainly unique looking. Wish I had several houses that I could deck out with all period appliances. Check out that bath water heater! Nifty. |

Various models of water heats by Humphrey Company reached 90% efficacy. Modern water heaters often top out at around 75% to 80%
archive.org/details/HumphreyComp... www.waterheaterrescue.com... www.waterheaterrescue.com/funstu... Much like Rudd and other instant gas water heaters of the time Humphrey offered many different models to suit needs. This included sidearm storage systems which meant pretty much an inexhaustible supply of hot water, even for heavy use. Two of these vintage sideharm heaters combined with say 1k gallon storage tank could easily supply hot water for an entire large office building. Humphrey Products is still around, but they've long since gone out of water heater business. www.humphrey-products.com... |

Hi laundress thanks so much for posting. This did not know about this water heater collection.
We have one of those 20 gallon Rudd water heaters in our museum collection. Thanks to Tom. I still haven’t customer with a 1941 version of this water heater. It was original to the house and it’s still working fine in Northwest Washington with the Monel tank. Too bad they don’t have more of the early electric water heaters. There were a lot of unique ones as well. I removed a square Westinghouse electric water heater from my first partners mother‘s house in Wisconsin. It was from the 1940s she said we never ran out of hot water. We removed it in the 90s when gas was added to the house. John |
