I’m curious to see pictures, hear tips, stories etc of the spaces people set up for their vintage collections. I’ve been enjoying the collections pictures for vintage 30s to 50s inspiration as I figure out how best to organize a couple washer dryer sets, how to pull new 240 lines to multiple dryers, handle draining, etc. that being said, I’m very interested in the infrastructure hidden behind those collections.

I’m thinking about leveling and painting my basement floor ( loved Unimatics checkerboard floor) and I might paint a checker board pattern to avoid installing VCT.

How are people handling multiple 240 breaker additions? Are you setting it up so only one or two dryers can operate at a time? Do you just trade out sets periodically or are they all connected and running?

Also how have you handled drains - I only have one waste stack so I’m limited in WD set positioning against one wall unless I could have them drain into a sink elsewhere, and then pump that water overhead (basement ceiling space) towards my waste stack. This would allow a more ergonomic cluster for washing/ drying rather than 20 foot wall of washers a dryers. The catch being if the pump ever fails I might have water in my basement.

Very nice!

Very impressive! I don’t have as large a space but similarly trying to update things. I may try and get creative as I don’t want to put a bunch of dryer hose holes through my house exterior. Did you wire a separate circuit for each dryer then?

Almost... LOL   I ran 3 dedicated 240v outlets BUT I also found an extension cord made by Bosch for connecting a 240v washer to the same outlet.   It's now used to feed the Philco-Bendix combo and one of the Frigidaire Filtrators that were acquired after the initial renovations were done.

I don't think I have a picture of it anywhere, alas....
