Hello. I am searching for an early to mid '90s Kenmore fully loaded direct drive in good condition. I am after one that has the 4 control knobs in either white, bisque, or black. Desperately searching facebook market place, offer up, and Craigslist to no avail.

I would also be willing to take a matching set if the dryer has a gas hookup.

If anyone also has any insight how shipping these works, please let me know. I can pick up if you are near the Chicago land area.

Below are pictures of what I am after. Thank you!

A near TOL KM DD at ARI appliance in the Minneapolis area. I have done business with these guys and they do a good job on their rebuilds. I can try to help with getting it for you.

That machine looks beautiful, but the one I'm after is the one with the hockey puck knobs. I prefer the look over the newer late '90s style. Does your appliance guy have any as pictured above?

KM DD

I did not see any. I will check some other places around the Minneapolis area. The style of machine that I posted will be much easier to find though and mechanically identical.

The first machine you posted looks to be from 1988/1989. I see those a lot around here. I believe the higher end ones had the detergent/bleach/softener dispensers.

That white one is pretty much what I want. Only thing is, I'd rather have the variable water level control. I told myself if I am going to invest in another machine, it will have everything, even if I have to wait. That machine also appears to be pretty used... guess that's normal for 30 plus years lol.

Would you be able to check and see if a black style control panel is available with the 4 control knobs?

If you do find one, how do we go about transporting it? Is there a shipping service?

My aunt had a white set before. I don't remember if the washer had those four wash settings or not but I did remember it was a 90 Series. Eventually they were replaced by a Maytag front loader set which she still has today.

Softener Dispenser

The first one in the OP looks to have a triple (timed) dispenser array at the front of the loading area, a smidgen of it is visible at the right.  The other model may or may not.

Reply 1 has a centrifugal dispenser on the agitator.

Reply 4, no.

Reply 5, triple (timed) dispenser, not shown in the photos but referenced in the lid instructions.  Looks to be the same model as the 2nd machine (pics 2 & 3) in the OP, so there's confirmation for it.

Triple Dispensers

If I could get my hands the washer in reply #1 (black console) with the triple dispensers, I'd be so happy.

Not sure these are very hard to find.

I think this is what you're looking for. In St. Paul MN.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Only thing is that machine is in St Paul, and I’m in Chicago.

I reached out to the seller asking if he’ll work with me on getting this to me and he said “in person only”

Seems it's roughly a 6-hr drive.  Folks among the group here have made such journeys (and probably longer) to fetch coveted items.

For reaching out to me and trying to get me the machine. Unfortunately it was sold and the ad had a misleading photo. I just want to take a moment to say how appreciative I am to Nick for trying to make this work. This forum has great people and that's truly amazing. Hopefully I'll get my dream machine one day.
