I follow Sharp on Facebook because I've always liked their products. Anyways, today I saw on their post that it's national dishwasher day which I didn't know about till now. So I thought of showing off my all time favorite dishwasher and I'd like to see plus hear about your favorite dishwasher as well. Doesn't matter if it's vintage or modern. If you have a collection of dishwashers, let's show them off on here as well:)

This is my parent's black KitchenAid KUDS30IVBL3 they've had since they remodeled their kitchen in January 2010. It replaced an old black Maytag that I grew up with because it had a bad motor. My mom specifically wanted this one because we had a stainless steel KitchenAid up at our last cabin that was very similar and loved it so much. This has overall been the best dishwasher that I've ever used. Very fun to use, cleans awesome, I love how quiet it is, and it is just such a cool looking machine in my opinion. I like using Cascade Complete and the Kirkland pods in this, preferably Kirkland. Once in a while we'd put in vinegar to completely self clean the dishwasher. We did do one modification to this, shortly after buying this the motor burnt out because it wasn't breathing very well so we took out the foam installation which solved the problem but now it's not as quiet as it used to be.

This is my LG dishwasher. This dishwasher performs very well and holds a ton of dishes, pots and pans and anything else a dishwasher can wash. I am very happy with the build quality and so far after more than two years old now zero issues to report.

This is my primary dishwasher. A 18” portable SPT. It works well. Aside from the plastic upper wash arm tube clip which clips the tube to the rack. I just zip-tied it back on. I can’t say that it’s superior to my two 1960s KitchenAids.

Can't believe that I missed "National Dishwasher Day"! Here is a picture of "Phil" a KitchenAid KDI-58 that I turned into a built in. That's a job and a half. I had the white panels painted and the shop tried to match the Woodtone Brown GE color that my oven and range are painted but had to color match as they couldn't mix from the color number any more. They got pretty close but not perfect. What you see on the front is reflections. Phil replaced Gertrude, a Bosh that came with the house but was throwing E24 codes and refusing to start unless we did the "dishwasher dance" detailed elsewhere on these pages.

That looks like an excellent match for Woodtone Brown. Even if they had been able to make it using the color code, there would be a variation due to the difference in light reflectivity between paint and the porcelain enamel on the oven and cooktop.

Here is my 1994 Maytag.....

.....DWU9921AAX.

Other than replacing the lower rack 3 times, no other issues or repairs.

I'd LOVE to find black panels for it, ,though.

The ones behind the almond panels are not in good shape due to some leakage from the soap dispenser latch boot (which I replaced myself many years ago...)

I finally founded what our old Maytag dishwasher was, it was a Jetclean. Anyways, it looked exactly like this one based on the photos that I saw online. I thought it was a good dishwasher, definitely louder than the KitchenAid but I sure do miss it. However I'm not sure how old it was when my parents bought it because it did replaced the original dishwasher in that house which my mom thought it was terrible. I believe that one was also a Maytag too but I could be wrong. My grandparents at their house also had a black Maytag I believe was a Jetclean as well that looked similar to this but I think it was a bit different, probably a step above cause it looked rather more fancier. It got replaced not too long ago probably a few years I should say, I thought it got replaced by another Maytag but I was just up there last week and it's actually a stainless steel KitchenAid KDPE234GPS0 which according to online it's already been discontinued. Though they do sell one today that's similar to it which we may end up getting for my grandfather's cabin if the Frigidaire is beyond saving from the flood which chances are that we will because it was already broken before the flood actually happened. And my aunt had a white Maytag from her old house, not sure if it was a Jetclean or not but it was put in when her and my uncle built the house in 2000. It got left behind when they sold the place in 2021. She actually misses it now because she hates the LG at her new house, just doesn't clean as well like the Maytag.

Love that Kitchenaid very nice still. I wasn’t able to be home to celebrate this incredible holiday, lol! Kenmore posted about Dishwasher Day which is how I found out, can’t believe I went all these years not knowing. Here’s my ultimate favorite above all, still used just about everyday.

favorite dishwasher

My vote goes to the Whirlpool power clean due to the cleaning power and the noises they make. There's something special about them.

National Dishwasher Day - Didn't know that was a thing

I can't believe I didn't know this was a thing.  Anyway, my favorite cleaning dishwasher has to be my BOSCH 800 series.  That thing cleans EVERYTHING but my all time favorite dishwasher is any of the single arm KitchenAid series.

Hubby doesn't share my love of vintage dishwashers so we have a modern one in the kitchen and I installed my favorite single arm in the utility room. This particular machine is the first vintage machine I ever bought.  It was via an eBay auction that I won while attending my first Wash-In in Tempe Arizona in 2007.  It runs like new thanks to Varicycle Voice and Dishwasher Crazy who replaced the motor and seals for me.  Great memories.

Very cool dishwashers everyone! Thanks for sharing!

Anyways, I actually do have a picture of that white Maytag I was referring to. It was also a Jetclean. Thought I'd share here. I think that's all I can think of to talk about.

I have that same Maytag dishwasher I bought it new in 1997 as a portable and later converted it to built in. It would clean everything the first time. It got a little tired and was replaced by a brand new unused KUDI23 KitchenAid from 1994 identical to my mom's. I still have the Maytag though and will eventually pull it out of retirement back as a portable to use on holidays.
