This is the first Speed Queen I have purchased. I bought it based on how highly praised the company was for the durability of their washers. After connecting the washer I wiped down the interior of the machine like the manual stated and then set it to run a rinse cycle. While I was busy taking care of other things, I heard the washer start beeping and went back to see an error code flashing and water coming out of the bottom of the washer. I opened the lid and the tub had filled half way but no more. Water was steadily draining out so I had to get out the shop vac and suck the water out of the tub as fast as I could. Then had to suck up the water that was all over the floor.

I've been on hold with Speed Queen waiting to talk to someone for over two hours. What could possibly make a brand new washer do this? And I would think for a company like Speed Queen that they would have enough staff to manage call volume.

Did you call the company that you purchased the machine from? I think they would be the first call vs calling the manufacturer. A big advantage with Speed Queen machines is they are generally sold by independent servicing dealers vs a big box store where you are on your own.

An issue like this could happen with any new appliance no matter who made it. It could be related to shipping or damage during installation. Really the installer should have tested the machine as well on install.

Crappy dumb luck, but I don't think it speaks to the long term durability of the machine itself.

Hi, where did you buy the machine?

Did you install it?

Did you take the front off to see where it is leaking?

It is most unlikely. The machine will be exchanged by Speed Queen. Possibly the dealer might but it’s probably a very simple problem.

John

This sure as hell wouldn’t have been a “very simple problem” for me! The installers should have tested this machine before they ever left your home. These are premium priced washing machines and I believe that it’s not unreasonable for a customer to expect that the machine works properly and doesn’t flood their home on its maiden voyage.

I would have called the dealer first not SQ.

I hope that you get some satisfaction.

Eddie

I'm thinking a tub to pump hose clamp is loose somewhere. As much as I dislike the TR series washers, they don't have a reputation for leaking at the center seal. Of course, with my luck, it will be a leaking center seal, lol.

Take the front panel off and wash a small load with the shop vac nearby.
