Was watching an old episode of WML from October 31st 1965 tonight which just happens to have a short Westinghouse washer ad at 15.00 minutes in - the Heavy Duty 15. Using a wine glass reminded me of the old wonderful old Frigidaire ad from the early 1950s. There are also ads for Champion spark plugs and Supp-Hose stockings.
If you have time give yourself a treat and watch the whole programme for some quality TV. And yes, Dorothy Kilgallen would only make one more appearence on Whats My Line before her untimley death. CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK |

The Frigidaire advert from Christmas 1950, Robert has had this on AW for very many years. I have always liked this advert, it must be 20 years since I first saw it

Neat ad. Thanks for posting Alistair
It’s a pretty unrealistic test, whirlpool engineered their washing machines to accept and handle, approximately a 5 pound out of balance weight, which is more typical of what a washer may ever see you would never normally have 8 pounds on one side of the tub, with a neutral drain machine, it’s very unlikely that they go out of balance as easily as a spin drain machine anyway. They didn’t use a Maytag or a Kenmore for a comparison because they both had to shut off switches and you would’ve had to have gone and reset either one of these machines if you attempted to spin something that heavy.
