I think Ken (bajespuma) had one of thesse and loved it.

I am wondering if picture number two shows some separation of the frame from the cover.

Thanks for posting this Phil!

...and I'm going for this one!

It would be great if it were one of the first series with the two pumps and the weird detergent dispenser, but I'd like another working WP-600 just the same.

I'm going to try to read the serial number on the rating plate to figure out what year it was made.

I look forward to this adventure Ben. I am never quite sure whether to say " You're welcome or " I apologize",knowing a new adoption has a road of unknown and hope the challenges will be familiar. With so much experience and resources here...Wishing you the best ....I like this unit, too!

Maytag top load portable dishwasher

This does appear to be an early build model. The early ones had two separate pumps one for draining one for circulating, it was a more reliable design than the next generation, and all the built-in Maytag dishwashers which had a unified motor with circulating and drain pump, which was much more Of a problem when things went wrong.

We had one of these early build models in coppertone but it got so rusty under the gasket around the top that we finally recycled it. We used to use it to wash parts in.

Bonus for Bajaespuma

Ben, if this is an early model, I guess you are smiling that it's the 2-pump model.
If you hadn't already determined this - thank you John.
