This dishwasher is in Elkhart, Indiana. Priced at $200.

Seller says it’s been in the basement for 40 years and not used since then. They’ve ran it a few times and it seems to work fine. Looks to be in great condition.

I sent two messages to this seller with no response after they were read. Hopefully someone else will have better success. I’m super disappointed, and irritated, they won’t respond because this was exactly what I was looking for.

no response

I have seen this before. I know of a few here who are collectors, enthusiasts and just consumers who have experienced a no response. It makes you wonder, did they sell it already, are on vacation and forgot that they listed something, or are just collecting emails or contact information? It's a beauty- hope they reply...maybe just a long delay?

So weird

She read it, so she knows.

There was another machine nearby that I wanted. Same thing. Posted, messaged, no response. I don’t know what these people are expecting. If it’s gone, or you just don’t like me, whatever, just tell me LOL.

She just posted it for sale last Friday and then reduced the price on Monday. I have no way of making an offer (I’m willing to pay asking price) other than messaging because she didn’t put the option to make an offer. I don’t know how else to show I’m serious.

Sorry for the vent, that wasn’t really what this post was about. About 90% of the time, I get no response from people. It’s very inconsiderate.

I’ve experienced all that has been discussed here and my conclusion is that people are very inconsiderate of others these days. I agree if someone’s supposed to be coming to look at it or pick it up, etc. just let me know. No worries.

Nearly unused KitchenAid convertible dishwasher

Hi Michael, I find you have to form a personal connection with a lot of these sellers to get their attention. If you really want this dishwasher you might even try offering her the 250 she was originally asking tell her you have friends in Elkhart and you’re gonna come visit them, etc. if you sound credible when you talk to somebody, it’s usually not a problem, explain why you want this particular dishwasher you may even make up a story that your mother had one just like it, etc.

I’ve had very little trouble getting what I’ve wanted from sellers.

I have a number Relatives in Elkhart in fact, I’ll probably be visiting there in a few weeks.

John

Something fishy…

The link in my first post above is still active.

Not 5 minutes ago, I went into FB marketplace to find the same exact dishwasher with the same exact photos being sold now for $300 by a different person.

Now I wouldn’t buy it. (I found a different one anyway)

Thanks

Thank you combo52. That’s awesome advice. I’ll use that in the future. I’ve dealt with this before. You’re comments on this issue in particular makes total sense.

Copy and Paste your replies here and I'll tell if you're in the wrong. If you used common courtesy, no profanity, proper spelling, complete sentences, punctuation, please and thank you ect you're not at fault. The lack of interpersonal skills rest with the poster. There is also the fact the posting may not even be legit. Upwards of 15% of all twitter accounts were found to be bots, and I'd argue that number is higher throughout the rest of social media.

Offer them more money

dj's profile picture

The exact same thing happened to me on here. There was this Dishwasher that I have been looking for for ever. A posting came up on FB market place,a member posted the link on here. I tried writing these people for weeks. Nice polite letters and such I told them i had been looking for one of those forever. I wrote a message to them at least once a week for three weeks and got nothing in return. They were asking 50.00 for the dishwasher, I offered them 150.00 and you should see how fast I got a response. So i'm getting the dishwasher. I know offering more money was crazy but it got me what I wanted so sometime you have to pay a little more but offering more money got their attention. Good luck to you and I hope it works out. I know how it is to want something and get no response when you make an inquiry. Very frustrating.
