Hello wringer washer fans:

I have available an aluminum Maytag gyrator (agitator) exclusively for wringer models 15 and 25. If anybody is looking for such a replacement agitator, let me know!

Brad, This Gyrator made for the high post drive machines, right? When the testing magazines put a washing soda solution in those machines and let it sit overnight, it ate into and heavily pitted the aluminum drive post and the machines were redesigned to have the low post drive.

Hey Tom,

Actually, the drive post is made of bronze, so it is not subject to corrosion, although the aluminum agitator is, of course.

This particular agitator (part # K923) is for round tub models 15 and 25. The agitator post is taller than that for the models A/30/32.

All of my Gray Ghost wringers (Model 80, Model 90, 2 Model A's, 2 model 30WP's) used a bronze agitator post. None of them had corrosion. The agitator shaft bearings in Model 80 and Model 90 were getting a tad sloppy but they saw an enormous amount of use.

All great machines in their own way but the newer convex agitator used in the Model 30/31/32 was definitely superior to the concave one. They are backwards compatible to the older machines though.
