My mother bought the same washer at a Sears sale in the early 70's. She beat them down to $129 and it ran fine but did rust.

Good save Chris fun to See a Basic pair that survived all these years.

Just one request please straighten the lid hinges on the washer makes me cringe to see the porcelain lid being jammed Into the porcelain finish on the top of the machine.

Are these going to become your daily drivers?

John.

Good save, my mom bought that same washer but in white in 1969 and it lasted until 1991 when it just wouldnt start. That machine had all you wanted in a washer, 2 speeds and three cycles three water levels and five water selections if you changed the selector after the wash started.

Well after she ran a few cycles, she started to drip from underneath, and froze up, the motor began to smoke and poof popped the breaker, It seems to be stuck in gear. the belt won't turn only a little bit. it just hums when turned on, goess its a full tear down as Melvin said it needs, the dryer insides look great and new Ill test it this week...

Congratulations on finding these gems! My aunt and uncle had the original 1970 version of this model washing machine, which I believe was purchased in the latter months of 1969. They raised 5 kids with that washer until it died mid cycle in 1988. It was the lead washer that inspired my love of Kenmores.
