Replaced during renovation, no leaks. I've heard these can be tough to find so I want it to go to a good home rather than a landfill. Make your best offer and I'll probably accept.

Local pickup in Redwood City, CA. Text me at 650-582-5773

That is a bottom of the line KitchenAid from +/- 1990.  Some people prefer them for their simplicity.

Thanks Dan --

Just busy and on the go lately, and then that whole COVID surprise I wasn't expecting that ruined my clean record and sapped my physical and mental capacities for a couple of weeks.

I'm still enjoying the timer you posted a while back that extends intervals on my 712.  It makes a big difference on tough jobs, which is mainly what I use that machine for.

Attaching more photos. The replacement parts catalog says "7-87" which may be a date: ia802307.us.archive.org/26/items...

Builders Model

rp2813's profile picture

I'm fairly certain the "B" in KDB is indicative of the "Builders" model.  AFAIK, these were not available for purchase by the general public and were a yet lesser model the bottom of the line "Custom."  There is no china guard under the top wash arm, but the Custom may not have had one either.  Ditto for the non-existent rinse aid dispenser.  The 1987 date would be correct for a 21 series machine.

It looks like your machine has seen little use over the past 37 years.  Even Hetch Hetchy water can't keep a machine looking that good for that long.

KitchenAid KDB 21 dishwasher

B Did not stand for builder model. It was a basic model model. Yes, it was definitely sold in stores. KitchenAid did very little builder business and when they did, it was usually higher end products because the builder was trying to Build an impressive expensive home not worrying about saving $40 on a dishwasher.

John, you gave me a scare so I did some searching just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind!

I'm providing a link to a thread where Steve described KA builders models.  You have to scroll down quite a bit to find his post.

I'm not trying to prove a point or dispute anything; I just wanted to be sure I had read about KA builders models on this site at some point in the past.  Good to know I'm not on a fast track to senility just yet!
