Anyone know when this set would have been made? I think it’s upper end as for as model line up. Not that Speed Queen had a huge line anyway. Early perforated tub I am told. Any info or opinions would be great. Going tomorrow to pick them up.

Congrats on the set! I would love to find one of these machines, they are one of my favorites.

So my early ‘80s Amana set looks very similar. Were Speed Queen and Amana affiliated in any way then?

Yes, Speed Queen and Amana were both divisions of Raytheon at that time.

That looks like the Speed Queen that I purchased way back in 1986.  I used the pair until I gave them away about five years ago.

Hi David hopefully you’ll have fun with these they look like they’re low use machines so they’re probably still quite usable.

Speed queen washers of this era were kind of crude and Noisy , you can tell they were primarily made to be a commercial laundromat machine where people didn’t care about the noise and performance that much.

They’re one of the few machines of this time period that actually make a Maytag washer look good performance wise.

The dryer is quite rugged it’s a little smaller than a Maytag or a 29 inch whirlpool but it’s a little more durable than a Maytag dryer of the era.

We have lots of parts for them if you have any problems with them let me know .

Beautiful set! I honestly don't care if I own a noisy washer and dryer or not. I actually prefer it because to me a washer and dryer should be noisy like it's doing something.

and as far as noise goes I also like to hear what's going on, with the KDC-17 that's not a problem, I love that "Hurricane in a Box" sound, just make sure you answer the phone in another room!
