I'm on the hunt for a good electrically powered one to use on our carpets, but want to be sure that I get something that is good. Which I would imagine generally means it has to be old enough to be good.

The vacuum unit is a Small Wonder (IIRC), and works quite well. It came with a little hand held turbine powered brush unit, which is basically worthless. Looking for an electrically powered upright unit.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Thanks,
Keith

The folks over in Vacuum land told me about this one. it was developed for central vacuums without electric power nozzle. it is based on the latest Electrolux power nozzle. it also is great for those who love vintage vacs. i Have had mine for about a year and a half and have no issues. it has all the power of a 120-volt power head. I really love mine with my Electrolux LX
