Hi everyone,

I recently acquired a couple of new toys, so I must say goodbye to a couple of items (I know, so sad, but there is only so much room).

First on the list is a Whirlpool top loading portable. Some history: I picked this up about 15 years ago. It is model SVP100 from 1970. This model series featured a new control backsplash design and the rare Delco Turbo pump. It also has the temp assured final rinse in the Super Wash & Short Wash cycles. I had to replace the original Delco pump when I first got it due to a shaft seal failure (the shaft seal for this pump is different from the common two piece ceramic seal, and is “delicate” in nature; any foreign material that gets near this seal will damage it). I installed a Power Clean pump as a replacement and it works great (it also uses less water since this pump doesn’t require the same charge as the Delco).

I also had to replace the fluorescent bulb with an LED bulb. The switch to operate the fluorescent bulb broke, and it was a custom sized switch with an extremely short shaft. I was unable to find a switch to replace it that would fit and operate a fluorescent bulb. It works beautifully and looks great! I also added sound insulation to the outside of the tank.

Finally, the cabinet was in rough shape when I got it; I decided to paint it myself a bright shade of blue. It came out OK, but it now has some scratching on the side.

I’m offering this for free; you would just need to arrange transportation. I can work with the various shipping companies if necessary. I’ve used U-Ship recently and it’s worked out very well. Pictures are below (their are a few with dishes to illustrate capacity)

C'mon folks! Someone out there wants this! : ) Let me know!

Speed reading with excitement, I didn't see the "free;" I'll pay any way, old friend. Always wanted the lighted up TOL Top-Load Whirlpool. The one you gave me so many years ago, has long since given up the ghost.

Always love this dishwasher and what you did with it,

The general wash system worked by putting less water in. It was a time to function done by the timer and it would cause the Delco turbo pump to aerate the water and give a less intense washing action. I don’t know if it would work properly with the power, clean module in the dishwasher.

I have the one model down from this dishwasher, the 90s series and I’ve been thinking of painting it red and putting a power clean pump in it and using it as an auxiliary machine, it’s not real high on my priority list. I already have a KitchenAid top loading portable that fills in the extra machine

My partner who normally unload the dishwasher is visiting his mom so right now both built-in machines are full of clean dishes and I’m about to fill up the portable dishwasher so when he gets home they’ll all be full of clean dishes lol
