Hello everyone
I have just bought a house and will be moving into it soon. THe vendors are leaving me behind a black washing machine which will match the kitchen better. I really dont want to get rid of the machine but it will not match my kitchen. I dont want to go selling my A3110 to the next tennants neither do I want to go selling it to someone that wont care for the machine. My machine is in great condition and has never missed a beat in the 3 years I have had it. If you want to make me an offer then your welcome to have it. Only asking for something for it because I have things to buy for my new house and the cost of moving etc. It will also give me peace of mind knowing it has gone to a good home & to someone who wants the machine. I am in Leeds and close to motorway links. Kind Regards Richard. |

Please don't sell that lovely Electron, because if your anything like me you will live to regret it in a few months time. Surely you can find some room in your new house, has your new home got a out house or a shed to put it in (possibly with power & water supplies) & then maybe you could put the new black one in there. |

Thanks guys I am going upto the house tonight to discuss giving them something towards curtains.
I really am in 2nd minds as to get this black plastic thing from them after reading your comments and also seein on ebay that they are failing with the electronics. My last hoover I had before my A3110 was useless at washing and failed so many times. I think my A3110 has proved itself and it wouldnt look too out of place in my kitchen. I think my parents are getting at the fact that it is a new kitchen with expensive wooden floors etc. |

Well i'm always swapping & changing my Washer in my house, it's getting to the stage now that i'm almost an expert at it. Luckily all the machines that i have had have had wheels on them. I think you will get bored of that new Hoover because they all have the same old boring spin sequence programmed into them. |

This is the Zanussi machine that they are leaving me... found it cos the solicitor emailed me the address of the house that the vendors are buying turns out the machine they are giving me is from the house they are buying.
They are taking the black one with them and this will go in the shed... What do you think to it? |

Hi Richard,
Regarding that Zanni you're inheriting above, you'd be better off with either the ZWF14791, or an older version like the FJS1466W or WJD1667W. These newer models don't last long, the #01 prob, drum paddles falling out. I actually have a Zanussi JetSystem 1600 Washer Dryer WJD1667W, currently waiting for a new dryer fan (hopefully getting fixed in the next 02-03 weeks) seeing as my Servis Sapphire Washer Dryer's up the spout at the moment. OK so my A3110 is in place in my kitchen...
The vendors rang me re the Zanussi, told me it was leaking water all over the place? Not sure if that was because they wanted to keep it for themselves so they thought they would tell me it was leaking everywhere. But im glad I didnt sl@g my A3110 off and have kept it as my faithful machine! Its not let me down yet so I am sure it will be fine! Heres a picture of my new kitchen you can see the A3110 in place in the left corner! Sorry about the pink mood lighting! Will be upgrading these soon to LED so can have any colour I wish! |

I really am going to have to make a decision soon... the machine is starting to stop when it gets to the rinse cycles or when it is on spinning it gets stuck when it should advance onto a spin so the drum is rocking back and forth and you can just hear the machine clicking.
I don't have £200 to spend on the timer so I may look into selling the machine. I wouldn't buy a brand new machine as I like the high fill levels but I do need to get this sorted soon as came home the other morning and it had been stuck on spin all night the casing was warm to the touch. The machine does need a good look over but its so hard to get to the meets really to get it looked at. Anyone got a machine they would swap for, or for me to buy something off of them in exchange for this? Something that is good to go? This would be a good machine for someone to restore properly as the machine is in top nick just needs a bit of a service and stuff. Someone in the know who has a spare timer will sort this easily. Kind Regards Richard. |

Might be worth trying EMW to get your timer repaired but you would have the problem of all those wires to take off and put back. Perhaps another member can help in some way? CLICK HERE TO GO TO fido's LINK |

Hello Richard well as you know now these timers don't repair themselves they only get worse, this fault is almost a design flaw in the stepper motor drive, it is made of hard nylon and can wear to the point that it no longer advances the timer, the later range of timers used metal in place of nylon and rarely if ever suffer this fault.
If you were closer I could do your timer or Mat in Cardiff could, but the problem is unless you can find some one that is willing to come to you in Leeds who has experience of changing these its not going to happen. You might have to visit one of the group members and swap it out for a while. I remember that ever since you have owned this machine you have wanted it looked at, well the thing is if such an arrangement can be made then the whole machine can serviced, suspension, motor, belt, bearings and anything that needs looking at. These are very good machines but not designed to run forever with out any maintenance, so you need to get your head around this and also the possibility of taking it somewhere within the group. If you can hang on about another 5 weeks till after Christmas then something can maybe be arranged. Gary |

Yes I can hang on and more than happy to travel distance to have it looked at. I love the machine but there's things that need sorting on it. Suspension does need sorting and ideally would like the logic motor putting on it but I don't have the converter thing.
I'm actually off work now till 21st December on annual leave as it's my 30th on the 12th it's been so hard to get to the meets due to my shifts. |

Hi Dave,
Thank you so much. You might have one? Not sure if the picture above that Gary posted above is enough. It's a crouzet 879 that's printed on it. Gonna get the machine over to someone hopefully for a good service I am attached to the machine but the poor thing does need some attention. I managed to change the pump last year with help from my neighbour. Regards Richard. |

Yeah... The clicking will be either worn gear teeth jumping over each other, or a worn drive pawl slipping. Either way, not good. No luck with a timer so far, but I have several more boxes of assorted stuff to dig out when the weather is dry enough. All best Dave T |

Hello Dave and Richard, you could just change the motor drive and tumbler gear, this is where the wear occurs, as the stepper motor comes on to turn the tumbler the teeth wear. If you had a working timer with the same drive you could just remove the whole timer and remove the two nuts and bolts that hold it all together and put the working one on, bit fiddly but totally possible, and also you wouldn't have to do a complete re-wire job just the wires on the rear terminal block, the only gears you would have to time up would be rocker motor gears and that's easy Just a thought. Gary Ps yes it is a Crouzet 879 type some have "H1" after the 879 but they are the same. I will dig one out and take some fots of it |

Sadly I've not turned up a Crouzet 879. :-( I have, however, turned up various weird and wonderful timers, which I shall photograph and list in 'Shopper's Square', in case they may be useful to others. Happy hunting, Richard All best Dave T |

Hello Richard
Well things have moved on a bit since getting your timer..............deep intake of breath...............I have now fitted all the link wires I was talking about to you about so it can be fitted in your machine and the machines wiring loom connected up when it is sorted out between you mike and mat Speak soon Gary Ps the grubby bit at the back is where I have scribed "A"&"B" into the casing and used marker to make it stand out, I often forget which is which when I am doing these :-0! |

Hey guys,
having recently had the machine refurbed, I have since bought a maytag on ebay but I have had to spend money picking it up etc. As I only have space for 1 washing machine I am going to have to sell the hoover. Obviously would like the hoover to go to a good home and considerng the work its had done it needs nothing doing to it. its good as new. Thought would offer first dibs on here.. I have no price in mind so make me an offer if you are interested. :) Richard. |

As stated I am not looking to make any profit on the washer. If I could keep it I would as it's immaculate. I didn't want to put on here but feel I have to as I have just had a message telling me they are disgusted I am selling it. Not going to get into that here but I am in a bit or a financial mess at present. Yes I bought the maytag but overall I have to think long term. I paid £22 for the Maytag and long term this fits in the kitchen better and as I now have full house with housemates who have a lot of washing to do and the maytag can handle more washing when everyone's wanting to wash at the same time.
The Hoover was put into the shed for storage and I had no plans to sell it but I am having to sell a lot of stuff to make some money to pay for £600 on car repairs amongst other things. . I've credit cards that I have to pay off which I have used to cover bills etc. I have also had to get more housemates in to hell me out which is helping but I didn't want to get to this. I have been off work sick for a few months or so after having an operation and my pay has dropped off so I haven't had a full income. I have sold lots of other stuff already and the Hoover apart from a few other things is all that's left that mean something to me that I have held back on etc. I am not someone who goes out spending money on clothes etc I tend to put it all back into the house. I didn't want to put my financial status on here but I now feel I have to as it's offended people it seems. I didn't want to be judged but I know me selling the Hoover has perhaps upset the guys who put time and effort into the revamp of the machine. This is not intentional. :( CLICK HERE TO GO TO richardc1983's LINK |

Hello all...
I just wanted to update you all... In the end I could not part with the machine... it means something to me and I was panicking out money before. The good news is that I have managed to sort most of that out and its "manageable" so I will be keeping the machine. It is safely covered up in the shed warm and cosy. I reckon its going to be brought back into service as the daily driver very soon as I am not having much look on the maytag front with the machine I have... See... www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/T... Just wanted to update you all and im sorry for the guys who put hard work into the machine for me to fully service and restore it for me. You understand that I was not in a good situation financially and sometimes bills and house mortgage have to come before hobbies. Fortunately I was able to work something out without having to part with the Hoover. Regards Richard. |
