Montgomery Ward seems to have had several sources for wringer washers over the years. Guess that is how things go when you are only a brand and not the manufacturer.
Dead give away is the "deep surge rinsing" which Norge also heavily marketed for their wringer washers. I wonder if it truly never occurred to housewives not to rinse laundry in their wringer washers, or did Norge strike gold? Think besides Norge, Wizard was also a source for MW wringer washers. IIRC MW had conventional washers long after Norge either stopped producing or was all together gone, so they had to come from someone else. Kenmore had Whirlpool so it wasn't going to be them, and Maytag didn't do private label branding. That would leave Speed Queen which I believe did produce wringer washers for MW, but am not 100% certain. |
