Part Three already! This is a recurring thread featuring laundry appliances that are for sale online from Craigslist, ebay, Kijiji and the like. Even if it's an older ad, it's interesting to see what's available and what the sellers think they are worth, even if some are pretty delusional. Though the emphasis is on washers and dryers, other appliances are welcomed as well. I'll try to keep the postings at 100 or so before I start another part.
Remember, this is just passing along an ad, no endorsements are being made or implied for sites, services or sellers. Always use your better judgement when responding to an ad.
So folks, repost those great appliance finds that are out there. You may help a fellow member find that dream washer, dryer, mixer or stove. Gives ya' a warm, fuzzy feeling all over, doesn't it? And the dude thinks we will use them for display. That's so funny, AS IF!!! And I love his take on BUG EYE when we call them frog eye while frogs of course eat bugs. This is awesome.
LOUIS: a VGC ancient Bendi, Classic Tags, WP Dryer, a Calypso, and those Kitchen Aids--WOW, at first blush, they look illuminated. What a neat idea; they're stunning, literally.
You've outdone yourself, and it's paying off with John getting that fabulous Easy Spun. I'll bet a dream machine that someone goes after these as well.
For the record: In my family there are two KA's humming away effortlessly: one is 12 years old, and the other is around 20, TOL and MOL, respectively. The oldest broke a spring once, the youngun' nothing, after washing for a family of 5. John and Glenn are right about the durability of these Whirlpool-made Queens. |

A pair of Kenmores, which I have never seen, are over the top amazing condition and cool...stuff that inspires dirty minds to come clean forever. Ok, maybe just a gambling visit, instead! AND...if you win, your trip is payed for, along with those beauties. I said too much, didn't I? I don't have the means right now, but just tossing out ideas... lol.

I'm glad John got that Easy Spinner Michael. Can't wait to see pictures and maybe a video of it in action. My jaw hit the floor when I saw those frog eyes. Too bad they are so far away from me, I would had snatched them up in a sec. I'd rather someone here would get these machines than someone who'd destroy them. Turning a wringer washer into a planter or an ice chest is an abomination. |

Not that it wouldn't have worked, but early plastics seemed to be all proned to that discoloration.
FYI...I'd like to get a portable washer ..not sure what would be a good choice. No charm in faded plastic lids. Pulsator: your avator has me repeating "wash all the clothes". I'm not too worried..yet. Just as long as I don't start repeating, "gotta get my boxer shorts at K-mart" and "we're just countin' cards and washin' all the clothes" LOL! |

That Kitchenaid W/D pair is beautiful. Very stylish indeed with the dark coloring, which you did not see a lot of during the DD era. |

Whirlykenmore: $2,000 ! I've never heard this big a dishwasher running. It must be deafening, with all the water moving or is it enclosed and fairly quiet(I can't imagine).
PhilR -It's not too common, but it happens, people give away their appliances...just no interest in selling...but finding a home with someone who would love it. Can't help believe, though, that those freebies end up with wolves in sheep clothing, taking the appliance to the crushers for $$. 70Series: Third in line, meaning? there were two more models that comprised the MOL before the TOL Lady K's? Yeah, the LK W/D pair aren't seen much, are they? (errant question popping out of brain: what LK's are most desirable to collect and /or use? Years and models? Is that a fair question? I'm asking because I would like to buy a W/D someday, and was wondering if a particular year and models stand out as most desirable? |

That Maytag dishwasher is just like the one we had back in the early 90's. It is so heavily built that you could literally stand on the door when it is open. Not the quietest thing around but your dishes do come out immaculate no matter what you put in there. At this price it's a steal. It'll last another 25 years! |

A fair condition 1-18 in Detroit. Not too pricey either...

TwinTub as recycle bins......not really all that bad of an idea......I mean, not take a good working one and destroy it, but if you have one with a very good body, and the interior is shot, why not convert it into something to put on display, and have somewhat functional.....covered bins, on wheels, and a display table....what more could you ask for....now you got me thinking.....
like we never have taken an agitator and turned it into a lamp, or side table....maybe even a blender into a light......we would love to hear ideas of what you guys have done to repurpose otherwise dead machines into some treasure.... |
