ad: " or sale is a Sears Kenmore Natural Gas Dryer. She's a vintage 1950's style dryer but works like a champ. Real steal if you need a cheap gas dryer that works like a champ.
I can help you get it out of the basement but I would suggest you possibly bring some help. I no longer have it hooked to the gas line, I needed it for my new dryer but trust me it works, if it doesn't you're free to come get your money back. This baby honestly just works, guess they just don't build them like this anymore. " CLICK HERE TO GO TO ovrphil's LINK on Denver Craigslist |

these look to be near TOL and price negotiable:
ad: "I have an older model Maytag washer and dryer for sale. They still work excellent, I've used them in the past month. I just do not need them anymore as I have new ones and I'm just looking to get rid of these as quickly as possible. The dryer still heats right up and works flawlessly and the washer still works great as well. I would like to get rid of both at the same time but if not possible I am willing to split them up. I am looking to get $120 OBO for both or $75 OBO each and I am willing to negotiate the price or work out some sort of trade as well to get them out of my garage quickly. I'm willing to trade for anything of value, preferably 420 friendly stuff (flower, concentrate, pieces, accesories etc.), music (instruments, records, accessories etc.), e-vape pens and accesories, PS3 stuff (games, accesories etc.), tools, man-cave type stuff, fishing stuff, sporting goods or basically anything of that sort. I'm also open to other items you may have to offer. Shoot me a trade, the worst I can say is no, thank you. I will be home all day today and after 3:00 or so the rest of this week for you to come pick them up in Old Town Camarillo. Delivery may be possible for an extra fee. Washing Machine - $20 (spring branch, houston) - houston.craigslist.org/app/469774...
Here's a perfect CL dichotomy - there are more photos for this piece of near-fertilizer appliance than for many of the other CL appliances that are worth considering. This is the most documented rust bucket on CL, maybe? |

Inglis was making Whirlpool machines under license (and was later bought by Whirlpool). Ususally, there were some differences between the US and Canadian models, like the shape of the cabinet and the model names but this 1974 large capacity machine looked like the US models and even had the same series name (Supreme). I still have the instruction manual for the dryer. Here's an Harvest Gold set of the same machines that were for sale at an estate auction and the instruction manual for my former dryer. |

PhilR - thanks for the photos and info. I like the color with shading, too. Were these of any higher quality in parts and longevity than the US counterparts prior to Whirlpool buying Inglis? I don't understand why Inglis had a license to make these and then Whirlpool bought them out(?) to expand their own international market or reduce competition or some other strategy(ies), no doubt.
That agitator reminds me of pouring batter onto a cake. Is that the same as the US version, the agitator shape? Phil |

" Vintage 1950s maytag washing machine. Great shape! Was stored in grandparents basement for the last 60 years, they "upgraded" in the 60s and kept this one for a back up. Still works perfectly. Includes 3 50s boxes of soap " Diaper magic". It's currently taking up space in the garage and looking to move it out. " CLICK HERE TO GO TO ovrphil's LINK on Kansascity Craigslist |

Asko set are from around the 1990's or maybe late 1980's, cannot recall. Do remember they were being sold around the same time Miele first began offering laundry appliances here in NYC (10XX and later 19xx series washers), and indeed both were part of the introduction of 208v-240v washing machines to the USA at that time.
Like Miele the washer connected to a plug on the dryer so only one outlet was required. There may have been a special adapter box as what Miele as well. Those are true made in Sweden units and were prized for the washer's ability to do true boil washes (temps >200F IIRC) with a cold water only connection. They were also more generous with water usage than today. Build quality was and is streets ahead of what came later after Asko sold parts or all of it's laundry business to others. Merloni (sp?) got the North American market and many report nothing but trouble with units. In UK and Asko units are badged "Maytag" IIRC. Anyone considering purchasing should check with Asko USA about availability of spares. Also if you think Miele's service distribution in USA was pitiful, Asko is probably worse. Unless you luck out and find someone with experience on these units, most likely you'll be on your own repair wise. |

I think you're correct, L, that's the exact same Asko set I had and IIRC it was from the early 90's. I loved that boil-wash. Parts were a little harder to find but with some help from this fine group, I had spares and the machine running again in short order. Nearly ten years ago, there was only one company that serviced Asko in our city, but now the service and parts network is better.

Launderess - I've known about ASKO for years, but never owned or saw one operate. Someone I knew or met owned an ASKO washer and/or dryer and loved it. But I didn't know about the heating, the w/d electrical connection that created a one-plug electrical requirement, and only a cold-water source. NICE features! If I could collect washers, dryers, and dishwashers, I think some ASKO's would be included.
Your comments led me to look and find a condensed ASKO history on WIKI: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asko_Cylind... Thanks again for your comments! |

I did not think the rinsing of the ASKO was as efficient as it could be because it only spun after every two rinses. |

Such behavior was par for the course in washers of that period. My Miele W1070 only spins after the third rinse (short pulse) and fourth (full spin), then the final series of graduated and complete spin dry after the fifth rinse. This is for "Normal" cycle.
Mind you my newer OKO-AEG Lavamat does nearly the same thing when "Sensitive" is chosen. You get two deep rinses, a short spin, another deep rinse then a full (and violent) spin then two more with equally fast spins before the final rinse and spin. In both cases the idea is to dilute, dilute and dilute some more then spin out. |

All the rinses before spinning are essentially diluting and preparing to spin before leaving any of the soap, etc.
Bottom line, does it get it cleaner than other approaches to dilution and spinning at some interval along the wash type /method selection? It impresses me, that these have five rinses and as long as the user isn't cramming too much and too different items into the washer, five rinses and the programmed spin speeds, seem like they would a great job. OKO-AEG : what is that? Not a Miele, of course. |

Have seen a few "European" Miele laundry appliances on eBay or CL in the past.
Since the units were in operation before being offered for sale one was intrigued and contacted Miele USA. Apparently at one time MieleUSA did offer modification parts so the units could run on American 208v-240v 60/hz power. This is no longer the case IIRC from the technician one spoke with. Also while MieleUSA will service such appliances they offer *NO* warranty. Meaning if something goes wrong you are out of luck. Seller claims unit was just fitted with a new drain pump so if we take him at his word some way or how the unit is being used. This *could* be a "marine" unit, that is came from a yacht or other such sea going vessel. You find "odd" Miele and other European appliances in South Florida that were taken off yachts for instance. |

That is a 1962 Model 70. Not too many of those pop up, but boy are they handsome. It's almost as if WP overcompensated on the consoles of these models by making them extra tall to make up for the short squat panels given to the 1961 70s. |

Used maytag washer and gas dryer for sale for 150 OBO. It is a 1974 model but bought from an older couple who took great care of it and had it serviced within the last year before we bought it this summer. We would of used it but the apartment we are renting from doesn't have hookups. Manuals included. Pick up only in Nappanee Indiana.
