Someone rescue this! If our truck was on the road I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.
Seller states "heats and dries well, timer doesn't work, and there is a clanking in the rear"

Like a GE dryer

Looks super similar to my GE dryer of the same age. Although I don’t have the fake wood grain look. I’ve never been a fan of that at all.

Only PA

You can’t get much closer when looking for specific vintage machines. I usually venture within 4 to 6 hours away from home.

I’m
In Orlando. So it’s a far drive for me. But I would make a few hours drive for one.

Member On Here Who Offered Shipping

trainguy's profile picture

I'm sorry I can't find the posting on here where a gentleman does shipping/transporting himself for a nominal fee. The seller said the dryer is still available. If shipping is reasonable enough, we can get this dryer here in Florida to fix Chris's dryer. Would someone please direct me to his post about shipping?

Thank you!

Thank You!

Thank you Beckie. I'm going to contact him now. I'd hate to see Chris miss out on this. 1-18's just don't come up that often.

You're welcome Rich. I have a pair of 1-18's myself in harvest gold we picked up last month for $75. This dryer is less than 2 hours from me, but I had no way to get it, and for the price don't want to see it end up in a scrap pile. I really hope you can figure something out and get it Chris.

How did you make out? I saw the listing is gone, I really hope it's on its way to you.

Not Me

Beckie,

I truly appreciate you finding that shipper's email address for me. I contacted the seller and the dryer was available. I told the gentleman I want it and will make shipping arrangements. I got a response back later from the seller that said 'never mind.' I have no idea what that meant, but anyway, I wasn't able to get the dryer for Chris. I'll have to keep trying. Thank you for posting the dryer, too. Former Pennsylvanian here. Used to go to Altoona & Johnstown for a lot of vintage appliances.

Rich

That really stinks

I'm always looking for 1-18s if I come across anymore I'll be sure to let you or Chris know. My search for the elusive agitator cap has me looking every day lol. Even if I can grab one and we can ship the parts Chris needs. We have a friend that hauls scrap keeping an eye out for vintage washers and dryers for us so hopefully we can come across one.

Thank you Rich for all the hard work. I’t means a lot. I might need the shipper to
Bring those lady kenmores from Buffalo to Orlando.
