Now that is interesting, that manual cover of the Astor is exactly the same as the 1955 Apex washer's manual cover...

@Laundress Yes! Absolutely impossible to find. I doubt there’s a single surviving machine with an Astor badge here but I won’t give up! Thanks for the Simpson tip off on hi bids. I won it. Do vintage machines pop up much on there? | ||

Interesting Australian Astor washing machine had a green fiberglass tub and an agitator as different to the Apex bouncing wash basket. Sold by H.G. Palmer in Victoria | ||

Apex also made a back and forth agitator washer with a fiberglass tub from about 1955 on until the end. It was labeled under brands such as Marquette, Zenith, Montgomery Ward and a few others, apparently Astor as well. I assume it was produced in Australia using Apex's design.
